Storyline:
'Inside Job' provides a comprehensive analysis of the global financial crisis of 2008, which at a cost over $20 trillion, caused millions of people to lose their jobs and homes in the worst recession since the Great Depression, and nearly resulted in a global financial collapse. Through exhaustive research and extensive interviews with key financial insiders, politicians, journalists, and academics, the film traces the rise of a rogue industry which has corrupted politics, regulation, and academia. It was made on location in the United States, Iceland, England, France, Singapore, and China.

This movie is a must see. It is disturbing but very important. It shows that putting our faith in our government leaders is a dangerous thing to do. Always be alert and always pay attention.

This movie lays out a clear and compelling story on how the financial "services" industry along with the government and many academics managed to bring down the whole system with GREED taking priority over ethics and justice. It also makes it very clear that Wall St. has managed to swindle the average investor so the top 1% get rich when times are good and lose nothing when times go south. Also of interest is the role academics play in the decisions that get made on Wall St and Washington and how lame most of them are in knowing anything about risk management. Acedemia is training more MBA's and PhD economists to do more of the same. Also explains for the less informed what all the "instruments" are and how they were all used to swindle millions of people while the regulators and congress did nothing. Obama is now part of the problem with his gang of 3 thugs managing the economy. If anyone sitll has confidence in Wall St. they deserve what they will get.

I see so many movies but I was truly moved by this documentary film.
The afternoon audience in LA burst into applause at the end of the film. This might be the MOST important film I've seen all year. God save America please from these Wall Street CROOKS who have yet to be convicted by any party for their CRIMES against humanity. They have infiltrated every area of our government and higher education. I feel sad that neither Republican or Democrat has brought punishment to these CRIMINALS. God help us all.

Charles Ferguson lays out the underpinnings of the world financial crisis. He does it with TV film footage, interviews, etc. It is fascinating, and horrifying, to watch how the bankers and investment houses, in cahoots with the "world-class" economists from our leading universities, robbed the public and how the US government has continued to support these crooks.

This film is a good old-fashioned documentary, not a Michael Moore polemic. Don't get me wrong--I like Moore's gonzo style, and almost wish he'd done this flick, since then it would have been viewed by more people. The showing I attended seemed to have an audience consisting mainly of economic policy wonks, who walked in already knowing most of the outrageous story they were about to see narrated on-screen.
This should be required viewing for Tea Party types who are angry at the wrong people. BTW, Pres. Obama comes off looking very bad here. He rehired the (mainly Republican) Wall Street foxes to guard the henhouse they'd just finished looting. If you doubt this, go see the film. Will anyone ever take these bankers on?
