Storyline:
A lone man, recently released from prison, seeks out the people from his past who he believes betrayed him. While he forces each to atone for their sins, he must also face what meting out vengeance will do to his immortal soul. Meanwhile, he's not the only one looking to settle old scores. Hired by the man responsible for the events which lead him to prison, an eccentric contract killer follows his every move. Scenes of them crossing paths, sometimes violently, are interspersed with the assassin's self-realizations of how to deal with struggles within his own life. As if old enemies & hired guns aren't enough, a young female detective begrudgingly works alongside a veteran investigator looking to simply survive his last two weeks on the force before retirement, as they seek out the brazen ex-con who has been blazing a path of gasoline-powered destruction in his vintage Chevelle.

My feelings about "Faster" are very mixed! The core mechanics of this film work well. The action is gritty and realistic, and everyone performs their characters well. It unfolds much like a mystery that keeps you engaged. However the subplots completely bog this actioner down! While Billy Bob is essential to the film, his whole subplot is lengthy and slows the action majorly, but really shows what drives him. The most unnecessary part of the whole movie however, was a subplot about a hired killer sent to take out Dwayne. It involves the killer and his girlfriend. It felt like they shoved a love story down our throats when none of it was necessary at all. They took forever to try and flesh-out this killer and make him human and it just hurt the pace and cause of the film overall. The director should have kept the killer's subplot to a minimum, if keeping it at all. So all-in-all a decent film worth a viewing, but the potential was wasted by the director.

the movie had its flaws it was really fast paced from the start but then started to waver in the middle and fall flat at the end. still it was great to see dwayne "the rock" johnson get out of a tutu and back to kicking ***. its worth a watch but nothing that couldn't wait for a rental or cable.

Alright, I really wanted to see this movie. I saw the preview and was really excited about it. WELL the first 10 minutes were great but the story never really followed the rock. Everything seemed to revolve around other characters especially the dumb story of the person hunting the rock down. Why did we need to see the love story with the assassin? Why did we need to see him do yoga? Why did we need to see him shooting bottles with his wife? Everything should have been about Dwayne Johnson, NOT the other characters! The plot was alright but proper character development and priority should of been used. Why did they show the days listed in the film. They had no meaning! It seemed very CSI like. My review is dont go wait till it comes out on DVD!

I liked the movies and actors but the only downside was how it was so predictable. I love movies with a twist but not when I can figure them out even before the half point.
