Storyline:
The Burlesque Lounge has its best days behind it. Tess, a retired dancer and owner of the venue, struggles to keep the aging theater alive, facing all kinds of financial and artistic challenges. With the Lounge's troupe members becoming increasingly distracted by personal problems and a threat coming from a wealthy businessman's quest to buy the spot from Tess, the good fortune seems to have abandoned the club altogether. Meanwhile, the life of Ali, a small-town girl from Iowa, is about to change dramatically. Hired by Tess as a waitress at the Lounge, Ali escapes a hollow past and quickly falls in love with the art of burlesque. Backed by newfound friends amongst the theater's crew, she manages to fulfill her dreams of being on stage herself. Things take a dramatic turn though when Ali's big voice makes her become the main attraction of the revue.

I just saw "Burlesque" at a press screening here in San Diego. It's another classic in the making. Cher was perfect in her role and Christina was excellent in her debut performance. All the roles were very well acted. I had a lot of fun!
I liked it better than other attempts in this genre. Although musical-esque, it didn't run straight from one song right into another. You don't have to be a music/musical fan to enjoy this. The costuming and sets (especially on stage) are excellent. The musical performances are amazing.
There are many funny parts and one-liners. The amusing dialog between the characters is spot-on. No one will look at Famous Amos cookies the same after watching this movie! Cam Gigandet is SO hot, I would have gone just to see him!
All-in-all, a must see!

It is a must see. If you love Cher. You leave just in awe. The only thing. I wish she would have sung a little more herself. The overall movie is fantastic. I would see it again at the movies, and defiantly buying it when it is out on DVD. It really is worth going to!
