When I first saw the preview for 50/50, I thought it was going to be an excellent movie, with some humor mixed in. After the movie came out and I read the reviews, I was worried because I was expecting every other word to be a curse word and there will be a lot of sex scenes. I decided to go see it anyway. I was pleasantly surprised. Yes, there were some curses uttered by the characters, especially from Seth Rogen?s character, Kyle, but it wasn?t anything that I wasn?t used to. Additionally, there was only one sex scene, and it wasn?t much. There were some funny moments in the film to help lighten the mood, but for the most part, this was definitely a serious film that makes the audience feels what Adam has to go through as he tries to cope with the disease. Joseph Gordon-Levitt, one of my favorite actors, does a masterful job of playing Adam and Seth Rogen does an excellent job of playing Kyle. This is one movie I definitely recommend.

Great Movie. Resonates long after it ends.

This is a great movie. No cheap emotional manipulation just believable flawed characters. A must see. And no worries that it's about cancer you will smile and laugh too.

I cried periodically throughout this movie-- I am a crier-- but I didn't realize going in that it was going to be quite so sad as it was. The previews showed a movie with a dark theme but lighthearted approach, when in actuality, it was hard and dark and emotional the whole way through.

Dialogue was stilted - trying to hard draw out character interactions. In the first 15 minutes, the entire plot was completely revealed and predictable. Some good comic relic from Rogan and touching ending. Worth seeing if there are no better options.
