Reminiscent of Hitchcock's Psycho toward the end when he goes to confront the suspect's mother in her home and instead of finding a meek, salt-of-the-earth woman, she turns out to be anything but...in the manner of Norman Bates with a touch of the suspense and a delightful recognition of for the viewer.

For 3/4 of the movie I was all in. The length of the movie began to take it's toll. I went from very interested to annoyed and ready for it to end. The ending was uncalled for and a tremendous letdown. The ending was an attempt to get you to think about the film. It made me want to forget it. . I would still recommend seeing. What could have been a great movie ended up being just good.

I really like this film. I liked the fact that Jake Gyllenhall gave his detective a blinking facial tic. So many good nuances. Hugh Jackman was a "force".

This movie was way better than I expected. The plot hold your attention. Best part was I didn't have the whole thing figured out in the first five minutes!
