I wasn't sure whether to see Frankenweenie or Hotel Transylvania. Frankenweenie is dark, violent, and NOT for kids. I took my 8 yr old daughter and my 6 yr old twin boys and the kids couldn't handle it. Other kids in the theatre were crying as well. I should've known better...after all...it is Tim Burton! I personally think it's for 12 yrs old and up..should've gone to see Hotel Transylvania instead.

One of my kids (5 and 3) favorite movies is Nightmare Before Christmas, so we were really looking fwd to another Burton masterpiece. We were not disappointed. Fun with just about the right amount of darkness. As in most Tim Burton movies, the characters are fabulous! My 3 year old daughter actually cried at the end...not because she was scared, but sad that the movie was over!

Took my two year old and three year to see this show and they loved every minute of it. They couldn't take their eyes off the movie. It was creative and heart felt.

This movie was good UNTIL...the kids decided to do what Victor, the main character brought his dog back to life after being hit by a car. However when the other kids decided to do the same thing to their animals they were not dead. This made them all turn into a scene where they got huge & scary, to the point I was ready to walk out with my 10 year old who LOVED The nightmare before Xmas. If you could leave for this one part of the movie it would be great, but there is nothing that warns you it's going to happen and before you know it you can't believe you are seeing it yourself let alone letting your child watch it. IT'S much too scary for kids, it's hard enough as an adult to continue watching it. Prepare yourself if you don't want to see this to leave the movie after Victor turns his dog into being alive again. This will NOT be one of the DVD's we buy to watch again. TOO bad because it was a very cute ending. Good luck~
