The Croods is a prehistoric comedy adventure that follows the world's first family as they embark on a journey of a lifetime when the cave that has always shielded them from danger is destroyed. Traveling across a spectacular landscape, the Croods discover an incredible new world filled with fantastic creatures -- and their outlook is changed forever.
The Croods is cute and colorful. Dreamworks did a great job creating a spectacular world filled with creatures you will find familiar and foreign at the same time.
For Adults: The Croods is a good (not great) animated movie. It is completely watchable and will definitely have you laughing. The backbone message is weak even for an animated film, but the meat of the movie is entertaining.
For parents: DreamWorks does an excellent job of making the dangerous creatures in the movie not scary to small children. The Croods held the attention of all the children in the theater. Some parents might take issue with the hitting/punching/biting of the Crood family, and Eep's parental disobedience. Those drawbacks would be for the pickiest of parents. Everyone else? It's a fun flick. If you cry at movies, you might want to bring a tissue.
There are fun stills at the beginning of the credits and a passable scene post credits.

I took my 4year old to this movie on opening day. We were so excited to go see a new movie! My daughter and I totally loved Wreck it Ralph and since Riley was also in the Crood's well, you know what I mean. However, we did not like The Crood's!
The movie was just too long and not only were the kids in the audience restless but, also all the parents. We were totally disappointed!
Usually, when a new kid movie is out in theaters my daughter and I go see it two or three times during its release, not this time!
The movie had so much potential!

This movie was much better than I had anticipated. An original story with interesting characters really drives this movie. Colorful prehistoric animals add to the eye candy. My daughter (age 10) wanted to stay in the theater for another viewing. There is no higher compliment I can give.
I went with my two little girls age 6 and 8, they loved the movie and I've never seen them laugh so much. It wasn't like other cliche' kids movies we've seen where you can predict what will happen. IT WAS EXCELLENT HIGHLY RECCOMMENDED.
