This is a film not to be missed by anyone, superhero fan or otherwise. Superman finally has the film he and the world deserve. A film that means something with actors who give it real substance and depth. I cannot wait to see where sequels of this film will take us.

Goyer's script is like his script for "Batman Begins," coherent and enjoyable. "Man of Steel" explores trust as "Batman Begins" explored fear. There's no "Can He Read My Mind?" romance, but when you smash together Donner's "Superman" & "Superman II," plus have Russell Crowe ride on an alien dragon amid a laser battle, there's not enough time. But Clark & Lois are just getting together here and do well as partners. I've read there's no innocence in this "dark" movie & that's BS--what, then, is young Clark saving kids on a bus or adult Clark saving oil rig workers? It's a serious movie, not that dark. Snyder excels at knowing when to slow down or speed through the epic content (vs Abrams' & Bay's tiring, insulting styles). I was dazzled at the art of the train fight in Snyder's "Suckerpunch," and every action sequence here is just as exhilarating. He employs a naturalistic style elsewhere that brings us into the characters.

We enjoyed it. Great music and special effects. Moments of brilliance. There were some dilemmas and bizarre lines and sequences. Get through the middle part of it and you won't be disappointed by the end!

I liked this movie, but I didn't love it, like I expected to. I like action movies ~ and there was a lot of action... but in between the action scenes was sometimes a bit too slow and the action scenes were sometimes a bit too fast. The cinematography was pretty cool, but it seemed to me that the emphasis put on Superman's speed made it difficult to appreciate the action. The movie is good for kids 12 and over, may be a bit violent for younger kids. And it's great for women of all ages ;)

This is the Superman movie we were waiting for! It is right up there with The Dark Knight, Avengers, and Ironman! In fact I think it tops them all! It is now my favorite Super Hero movie of all time! Definably the absolute best Superman movie ever! It has it all, from great action scenes that leave the above mentioned superhero movies in the dust! the story is tole with both intelligence, and heart! Fans of the television shoe "Smallville" will appreciate that. The cast is second to none, Henry Cavill IS Superman! Not only does he physically look the part, but he totally nails it! I also loved Michael Shannon as Zod! The movie was amazing on every level! Kids will love it!
