I am a 50 year old man that took his 9 year old son to see Planes. I am only writing this review because I had read the Fandango reviews before and some of them are so negative, I wonder what they were going to see. This is "Cars esque." It is a cute movie that moves along rapidly, is fun for kids and us adults that don't think every movie has to be an Academy Award winner. My son and I laughed through the movie the whole time. This move does not pull at your heart strings quite as much as Card did, and I for one like that part, as my son did not see his dad tear up in the movie theater! Go see this movie with the mindset on being entertained with your child and a good time will be had by all!

I went to see this movie yesterday and it was so disappointing that we all walked out. Seriously, I never submit reviews and usually don't go out of my way to comment online but this one deserves the attention. It was "Cars" all over again except with planes. You had the girl that falls in love with the main character, you had the old rusty guys who becomes the mentor, you had a race, etc....I don't memorize scripts, but let me tell you I think they used the same one and changed the names of the characters. What cracked me up the most was that my 4 year old was the one who wanted to leave. Half way through the movie you could tell that most of the kids were getting anxious because of all the noises and distractions they were creating trying to stay in their seats.
I actually felt a little insulted. What....Disney thinks we are idiots? No creativity or imagination just a replica of a great movie. My kid got more satisfaction from the balloon man in the theaters lobby. Sorry!
