Another sterling Merchant/Ivory production serves up E.M. Forster's scandalous book of the same name that was not printed for release until after his death. Provocative story of young burgeoning homosexual love in Edwardian society of London's upper class is a brilliant examination of surpressed emotion and gorgeous drawing-room style dramatics. James Wilby ably stars as the title character and is surrounding by a high-powered cast including Denholm Elliott, Rupert Graves and a very young Hugh Grant to bring this alluring tale of illegal love to life! Stunningly good production values abound in this smoldering tale of lust and love.
