Storyline:
Documentary look at health care in the United States as provided by profit-oriented health maintenance organizations (HMOs) compared to free, universal care in Canada, the U.K., and France. Moore contrasts U.S. media reports on Canadian care with the experiences of Canadians in hospitals and clinics there. He interviews patients and doctors in the U.K. about cost, quality, and salaries. He examines why Nixon promoted HMOs in 1971, and why the Clintons' reform effort failed in the 1990s. He talks to U.S. ex-pats in Paris about French services, and he takes three 9/11 clean-up volunteers, who developed respiratory problems, to Cuba for care. He asks of Americans, "Who are we?"

And a lot of people hate him for it. What is going on in this country as far as healthcare and corruption is a disgrace and has been for a long time. Kudos to Moore for a great film exposing yet another ugly truth about our so-called democracy.

I loved it truly as educational experience. I took my two boys ages 13 and 15 and they too walked away enriched by the experience. It made us think and question, how many films can do that. Our initial response was maybe we should pack up and move to France. Michael thanks for being out there and doing what you do.

I am a life-long Republican and was skeptical of this documentary. I had seen it given good reviews on FoxNews so I decided to check it out. All I can say is "WOW" !!! It really blew me away. I have to hand it to Moore, he is one hell of a movie-maker. I tried to get a few friends to go with me, but they were too angry at the press the movie is getting. When I told them how great it was, they were totally enraged. One buddy told me he will no longer talk to me because he claims now I am a "liberal ****ot". It was a very wierd experience to have people hate me so vehemently just because I like the movie. Needless to say, i won't be voting Republican again.

I'm a Home Health Registered Nurse in California. I went to a screening today. This is the best movie/documentary I have ever seen!! Michael Moore is to be commended. A bi-partisan movie. California voters, support the bill of Sheila Kuehl and VOTE! This is a crucial topic. I recently visited Europe and used their healthcare system. It was amazingly efficient and effective. I personally have experienced how pharmaceudical lobbyists have blatently influenced delegates to ANA in Washington, DC. This is a serious matter.

FINALLY!!!! I can't tell you how long I have been waiting for this movie to be made. Millions and millions of Americans are DYING for health care. Millions more are suffering with inadequate care that we can't begin to afford. This is the richest nation in all of human history, yet it is also the only western industrialized nation without a universal, single payer health care system. It is a CRIME for any man, woman, or child to be deprived adequate medical care amidst such unprecedented wealth and technological advances. It is cruel and it is ridiculous that the US health care system ranks 37th in quality out of all the world's nations, while coming in 1st in cost. That's just sick. We're not talking about some frivolous, unnecessary luxury. The fact is, HEALTH CARE IS A HUMAN RIGHT! IT IS SOMETHING WE ALL NEED! Well, Americans are fed up! We're sick and tired of this cruel and ridiculous system. And we're NOT going to take it any more. Let's get the health care that WE ALL DESERVE!
