Ian is originally from Aberdeen. He is married to the actress Victoria Donovan and has two children, Daniel and Hannah. He is a keen sportsman who despite his growing years, plays Badminton to a very high standard. He lives with his family in Berkshire. Ian's career began in musicals, but before he tread the boards he served his apprenticeship as a welder in Scoland. In 1996 he went for an open audition for Andrew Lloyd Webber and landed a part in Jesus Christ Superstar in Londons West End. Since then his career has went from strength to strength, working for National theatre of Scotland, The RSC, The Globe. In the last few years Ian has worked extensively in television and film and has just finished filming Les Miserables movie. He can be seen in World Without End playing Elfric in the Autumn and has just started filming The Davinci Demons for America playing Captain Dragonetti.
