Positive and personable, Camryn's talent leaps forward from each note she sings, and her charisma lends her clear, upbeat voice a natural ability to communicate. As her debut recording illustrates, she belies her age through a believable voice and a compellingly confident, wholly relatable stage presence. In truth, the most pertinent characteristic of Camryn is how assured she is for her age and how remarkably potent her songs are-especially for a young audience. Even at her age, Camryn's talent has proven too ripe and persuasive to hold back. On each step of her journey, she overcame the hesitancy of experienced industry insiders through the persuasiveness of her talent, personality and commitment to her music and to entertaining. Her parents contacted veteran manager and agent Jeff Pringle, who took up Camryn's cause. Next came Lennon, a rock 'n' roller with a reputation as a dynamic songwriter and artist who also first began recording in her teens. Lennon co-wrote and co-produced Camryn's debut album with Frank Shooflar. The longtime connection between Lennon and Camryn proved crucial-not only because they're longtime friends, but because Lennon can understand what it means to want to sing and write about your experiences at a young age. Lennon concurred that her long-running friendship with Camryn and her parents made working together easy and, in a way, more intuitive. Lennon would sit and talk to Camryn about her life and her concerns, then Lennon crafted lyrics that captured the feelings Camryn wanted to articulate and the energy she wanted to express. "Songs like 'Move Your Body,' 'I Love Being a Girl' and "To Be Young' remind me of what I feel like when I'm with my friends, and we're having a blast together," Camryn says. "Boys, dancing, running around, shopping, having sleepovers with my friends- those are things me and friends talk about or do, and that's what these songs are about." Similarly, she says, songs like "Losing My Mind" and the ballad "Starlight Star Bright" communicate the anxieties and concerns experienced by everyone who goes through the maturing stages of growing up. "I'm glad most of the songs are fun and upbeat, because that's how I am," Camryn says. "But I like singing about all kinds of emotions, so I'm glad there is a lot of variety in these songs, too." The sounds reflect the diverse tastes of Camryn and her peers as well. "I love to rock out to upbeat songs," she says. "But I also have dance songs and a ballad, too, because those are the different kinds of music that me and my friends listen to." Ultimately, Camryn seems so convincing because these songs reflect her times and who she is. As everyone from Taylor Swift to Justin Bieber to Miley Cyrus has proven, music fans today relate best to those who reflect their own lives and dreams. In an age when youthful stars continue to break barriers, Camryn stands poised to usher in the next generation of entertainment stars.
