Growing up on the Canadian Prairies, Alison busied herself with creating opportunities to act. She became the Artistic Director of a theatre company consisting of her and her two brothers, directing puppet shows and staging scenes that she hoped would be featured on America's Funniest Home Videos. She reached the climax of her childhood acting career when she was cast in a lead role in a fourth grade school production of The Shoemaker's Wife. 15 years later Alison had become entrenched in academics, eventually graduating from the University of Calgary's Commerce faculty with a Business Degree in Marketing. Coupled with a Minor Degree in Theatre Acting, she appeared in several University shows that weren't quite as thrilling as The Shoemaker's Wife, but nevertheless good practice. At age 26, after sampling a dual life of marketing by day and community theatre by night, Alison moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, in pursuit of film and television acting work. She has since continuously worked on network television series', TV movies, and feature films. Alison's first attempt as a writer and producer on a short film was humbling. She is now digging deeper into the realm of writing and producing with the goal of collaborating with top-notch film industry professionals to create meaningful, thought-provoking stories. Although not professionally recognized, Alison's acting career began at age five, improvising shampoo commercials in her bathtub. Alison's stage debut was in the fourth grade, where she negotiated to downgrade an on-stage hug with her "husband", the Shoemaker, to a high-5. Alison's first film audition was for a feature, in which she was cast as the law student girlfriend of the lead character. The film fell through, but Alison took it as a sign that she should either keep auditioning for films, or go to law school. Alison was once surrounded by 12,000 evenly-spaced toothbrushes in a mock "shopping aisle" on a commercial set.
