The Kingdom of Alagaesia is ruled by the evil King Galbatorix, a former dragon rider that betrayed his mates and his people in his quest for power. When the orphan farm boy Eragon finds a blue stone sent by Princess Arya, he sooner realizes that it is a dragon egg. When the dragon Saphira is born, Eragon meets his mentor Brom, and becomes the dragon rider foreseen in an ancient prophecy that would set his people free from the tyrant Galbatorix. What good is buying your movies when they won't download?

I thought it was ver ygood. My son also really enjoyed the movie.

There we some parts of the movie I was on the edge of my seat. Literally. But then sometimes I could just up and leave since there was nothing going on, no action at all. All in all, I give this movie a 4/5. My wife and I truely enjoyed it and even got a little teary at the end.

I won't even get in to the discussion about how badly the movie maligns the story from the book, but what is worse is that if you hadn't read the book, most of what happens wouldn't make sense anyway! Oh well, I went with my 8 y.o. daughter (who read the book) and she "Loved it!" despite spending the entire car ride back from the theater telling me all the problems with the movie. I think the action, combined with the very good special effects, more than overcame (in her mind) the problems with this flix. My guess is that most younger kids will have the same opinion. I, however, am not so forgiving and must say that this movie was a travesty. Major plot gaps, silly plot fillers and the changes to the story almost surely preclude a sequel (or at least a sequel that follows the storyline in Eldest).

Yeah so this movie was a alright if u didnt read the book. but so many things were left out did anyone notice there was absolutly no mention of the dwarfs. and the urgals were pretty much a bunch of body builders. not the 8 foot monsters they were sopossed to be. They didnt even have horns. the elf didnt have pointed ears. which someone could mistake as a human and the girl that he blessed wasnt mentions which is starting to become a major charicter in the later books so they really cant explain her. the razac never died, so that might be a little agaisnt the book. and the fight with durza was wrong as well. the only thing right was they cut his back and durza died. wtf was he riding on anyway. Did the producers or even anyone working on the movie read the book? im guessing not. or this might be just some random movie and it so happened that they had a dragon and a boy named eragon.
