The effects of 3-D made this, already remarkable film, even more outstanding. Especially fond of the "special place" he spent his time with Pumba & Timba. The effects of this magical place with the waterfall and all, was beyond expectations. Even the grubs & other bugs were amazing. The scene where Simba & Nala reunite was made even more magical in 3-D. Loved it.

Now Lion King will ALWAYS be a classic. But I gave the 3D an "Oh NO", not the movie itself! Don't waste your money. Just see the regular one. Its way cheaper. 3D movies don't even offer matinee prices! SAD!!

The last time I saw the whole Lion King movie was when I originally saw it in theaters in 1994 when I was 4 years old. 17 years later, sitting in the theater, I was transported back to my childhood. I couldn't resist singing along to the songs, crying at the sad parts, and laughing a the funny parts. The theater was filled with people much like myself and my boyfriend. Couples, all around my age, no children, no middle-aged adults. My generation enjoying a movie from our childhood. While the 3D wasn't too spectacular, it certainly did add that extra "umph" that I was looking forward to seeing. The movie was just as spectacular as it was as a 4 year old. I was pleasantly surprised realizing that not only was Matthew Broderick the voice of grown Simba, but Nathan Lane as Timone, both things I wouldn't have realized as a child. This movie is perfect for every Disney fan, young or old, all you have to be is a kid at heart.

I hadn't seen The Lion King in years and I honestly had forgotten about all it's beauty and the wonderful message it portrays. I own the VHS and over the years the color has faded and it skips quite a bit so seeing it in theatres was amazing. The color and sound were vivid and the 3D aspect gave it a whole new perspective. This movie for me was like riding a bike, I suddenly remembered song lyrics and little quirky sayings from Nala and Rafiki. I'm 15 and I'm NOT ashamed to say I knew the words to Hakuna Matata.

I love the story, the animation, and the music. The 3D conversion however had some technical difficulties. Much of the fast movements were ghosted images that stuttered along with the real images making it hard to take in. I would rather see it in 2D, than a pretense of 3D.
