Sorry - I was looking forward to this for many reasons. It is one of the worst movies I've seen in years. Boring - slow - and unfulfilling in every way. The ending will make you want to get your money back. I'm just trying to warn you. Too bad, since it could have been a decent movie. The direction was so misguided.

My girlfriend and I went to see it based on all of the rave reviews by the film critics. It was so slow paced that we wanted to scream! The sound of the wagon wheel's scraping was the only sound for the first half hour of the movie and will haunt me for a very long time. We kept waiting for something to happen and it just kept dragging on and on and on! Even the ending is abrupt and does not satisfy. Bottom line is that this movie is going to test your patience on how much you can tolerate before walking out of a theater (we hung in there hoping things would get better but they did not :-( ). Utter waste of time.

Like so many other reviews of this movie, Meek's Cutoff was painful to watch because it was paced so agonizingly s-l-o-w!! We waited for some king of story to evolve, and were sorely disappointed. Only about a dozen people in the theater, which says something! Huge waste of money!!

My husband and I too went to see this based on critic reviews and ended up walking out of the theatre at the end of the movie saying to ourselves "Huh??" We kept waiting and waiting for something the least bit exciting to happen on the screen only to be sorely disappointed at the end. We don't think anything less though of Williams and Dano for appearing in this flick (they were as excellent as they could be given this terrible script and direction) and hope they never make the same mistake again. Don't waste your time or money!

So VERY SLOW moving. Not much dialog. Kept looking at my watch thinking it has to get better soon but, no...
