Super is a movie that I enjoyed very much. It was funny and extremely twisted. It was light-hearted at times, and extremely dark at other times. Watch the trailer, if this type of film interests you I am sure you will not be disappointed.

Do not think this movie is just another Kick-***. Yes, it's an underdog, Joe Schmoe donning a homemade superhero outfit and fighting crime movie, but Super is way darker and way weirder (tentacle porn, 'nuff said). Ellen Page also gives us another spirited expletive-filled performace while Rainn Wilson, for the most part, is pretty good. His acting does become a bit schtick-y in certain parts. The story in itself is pretty pedestrain, so the chemistry between Wilson and Page (sounds like a 70s rock duo) are what's going to make or break this movie for you. I didn't like the ending though as it made the previous 94 minutes that I watched pretty much pointless and the beat-down of Zach Gilford (aka Matthew Saracen from Friday Night Lights) seemed a bit unneccessary. But then, like I said, Super is way darker and weirder than Kick-***.

I just watched this at the US release. It's awsome. Not for kids, the squeamish or uptight. It's bloody and violent, but it is Important to the plot. It Isn't like the other movies people will compare it too. It's more true to humanity. I don't know if others will see it that way, but it has a real good underlying plot that, for lack of better words, raises questions. I can't wait for it to come out for real so i can watch it again.
