Storyline:
Bill Mitchell is the philandering and distant President of the United States. Dave Kovic is a sweet-natured and caring Temp Agency operator, who by a staggering coincidence looks exactly like the President. As such, when Mitchell wants to escape an official luncheon, the Secret Service hires Dave to stand in for him. Unfortunately, Mitchell suffers a severe stroke whilst having sex with one of his aides, and Dave finds himself stuck in the role indefinitely. The corrupt and manipulative Chief of Staff, Bob Alexander, plans to use Dave to elevate himself to the White House - but unfortunately, he doesn't count on Dave enjoying himself in office, using his luck to make the country a better place, and falling in love with the beautiful First Lady...

This movie was hilarious! My 8 yr. old LOVED it! Its about little alien people controlling their ship that looks like the captain (eddie murphy). This type of movie appeals to a certain sense of humor and had the audience in my theater in hysterics.

I went to see Meet Dave last night. It was very funny. Its been a long time since I could remember a Eddie Murphy movie being so funny. I took a 4, 11 and 15 year old with. They all loved it and it actually kept my 4 year olds attention for the whole movie. I recommend this movie to all, especially families with children. There is no crude or sexual humor in the movie.

And he gave me his full undivided attention the entire 90 minutes!
MEET DAVE charmed my socks off and I was thoroughly entertained. If the movie was longer, he would have charmed the rest of my wardrobe off!!
The humor was FUNNY, SILLY, BAWDY and WITTY.
The irrepressible Eddie Murphy knows drama - but he totally gets comedy equally well. It was a treat to see him perform physical comedy again - and MEET DAVE was the perfect venue for him to showcase his considerable comedic talent.
Great FUN; charming story-line; interjected with sly social and cultural and pop-culture observations/references; commentaries on courting/dating mores; a DIVERSE mix of cast/characters; a well-conceived production; nicely paced - all the RIGHT ingredients that should appeal to a wide audience.
RECOMMENDATION: HIGHLY-recommended.
GRADE: Solid A-average.

I haven't seen Eddie Murphy this funny in 10 - 15 yrs. This moving was a riot from beginning to end. This is great movie for the family that everybody can enjoy and laugh out loud, a lot!!

I always like to go against the grain when these overpriced critics dub a movie a flop or a gem. This is a good movie for those who like funny light hearted ones, especially kids. In fact, the theater was packed and I had to sit at the very front. There were moments that had me trying to stop laughing, and I am sure that taking the kids to see this film will have them in the same position I was in several hours ago.
