I took my 9 year old daughter out to see this movie, she did not really laugh or comment during the movie, (shes a pretty quite kid though) but she did say after watching it that she liked the 3D. I personally liked the movie. It was age appropriate and the animation was fun to watch (ALMOST like clay-mation makes me think of Gumby when I was little, but digital enhancement helped with the overall visual affects) It was worth the 11 bucks to see in 3D only wish the previews weren't as long my daughter kept asking "when is the movie going to start?"

This movie is handsomely mounted. Aardman has outdone itself with the sheer spectacle of their sets and the minutest details on the characters. If you have ever watched the extras on a Wallace and Grommit DVD and seen the incredible work involved in claymation and stop photography, ya gotta be impressed. The problem is that I was not engaged with the main characters. There was not much character development and the scrip tried a little too hard to be clever. I found myself disengaged from the weird storyline, and just enjoying the details of the sets. There are a few risqué situations that will need to be explained to small children.

The film was pretty good. There was a lot of hidden things if you caught it that would make you laugh. You have to really pay attention. But as for the characters its great. Been waiting for another claymation movie for a while. IF YOU HAVE KIDS GO SEE IT.

I personally liked it because of the underlying things only adults would catch. I think my nephew may have been too young to actually enjoy it because it drags in the middle and his attention span is very minimal. But I give it so-so because it's supposed to be a kids movie and it lacked certain elements you look for in a kids movie. Would not buy the admission for the 3-D ticket either. Some movies actually use it to it's strengths. This movie...ehh not so much.
