I thought this movie was just a mediocre attempt to make us laugh and it did have a few moments where it accomplished that. The movie as a whole, however, was not nearly as entertaining as it could have been. A bunch of men cursing and making sexual references (throughout the movie) does not impress people with a more mature sense of what is deemed funny. Freaking hilarious? I do not think so. Glad I did not waste my time on this in the theatre.

We could not stop laughing, even at the "Scariest" scenes. Also this was a great satire on life in America in the 21st century. We are buying the DVD so it can cheer us up whenever we have had a bad day.

This is the End throws almost every flavor of young(ish), modern, comedic actor into an out-of-left-field apocalypse setting. Instead of blending into a homogenous smoothie and serving chilled, This is the End offers up a piping hot pot pie where every actor's unique flavor works with the others, but stands out on its own. A touch of Evil Dead is added for good measure. This is the End is not for everyone. The actors give the impression that they got together and had fun making a movie full of ad libs and racy humor. It definitely doesn't feel like a polished comedy. While some of the jokes don't land as hard as they were intended, others hit you right in the gut and will force you to laugh out loud. If you're up for a crudely made movie with crude comedy, check this one out. If you live in/are from LA, This is the End is even more relevant. The language, the ***** jokes, the strange and unnecessary gore, all of these were too, too much. It was a like a 17 year-old boy with ADHD on cocaine. There was actually a lot of potential... but the movie-makers decided to wade full on in the muck instead of pursuing what could have been a very funny, tongue-in-cheek movie.

Sorry, but it takes more than just the liberal use of profanity to make me laugh. I appreciate clever humor or reference but this movie was pathetic. Just more sophomoric pablum served up by Hollywood these days. If you liked it, good for you, but everyone was commenting as they were walking out of the theater what a crappy movie it was and how they wished they hadn't wasted their time/money on this. Not funny, not interesting. The high ratings MUST be from either 13 year-olds that snuck in or stoners.
