Storyline:
After years of fruitless warning of his farmyard brethren of the coming Thanksgiving doom, Reggie the Turkey finds himself spared as the annual Pardoned Turkey. However, Reggie's easy life is disrupted by Jake, a fanatic turkey who drags him along with the insane idea of going back in time to make sure turkeys are not part of the first Thanksgiving. Through foolhardiness and luck, the pair manage to take an experimental time machine to do just that. Now in 1621 at the Plymouth colony, Reggie and Jake find themselves in the middle of a turkey clan's struggle for survival. In doing so, their preconceptions of the world and themselves are challenged forever in a conflict from which the world will never be the same.

A great movie to see on a lazy weekend day.... Not one I would rearrange my schedule for, but certainly one to see if you find some time on a weekend and want to treat the kids.

I wish I had not spent $24.00 in tickets for myself and my daughter to see this. As adults we like to attend all the Pixar films as we usually find them to be very funny, entertaining, and have beautiful artwork even though they are meant for children. The story line was weak and was just another attempt at trying to make a holiday film about Thanksgiving. I have yet to see one that is great. The best thing about this movie was the Voice of Steve.....who I recognized as George Takei from Star Trek. I did not know he was in this film. I wish I would have waited for Netflix.

I took three children ages 7, 10, 11 to this movie on opening day. I would say overall, everyone enjoyed it. Some of the ways the plot was moved forward seemed pretty random, but I wasn't expecting to be intellectually stimulated by a movie about turkeys.
We laughed, we ate popcorn and left with a smile on our face. It is rated PG, however, I felt like it was a more innocuous PG film. I am more on the conservative side of what I allow my children to watch and had no issues with the content of this film. There are a few intense scenes that might be emotional for super sensitive children, but nothing over the top. As usual for animated films lately, there was enough tips of humor directed to adults but not inappropriate for children. There hasn't been much of a "Thanksgiving" movie in a long time so this was a fun way to start the month of November.

Free birds was a solid movie overall. The comedy,directing and action scenes were nice. The actors did a good job with the voices. The story was simple and easy to follow, this is a nice movie for the family. The ending was solid.

Like the cast but the story just was a bland okay, could have waited for the DVD.
There were some funny moments but if felt like things just dragged on more than they should have, my five year old was bored. No real catchy music or tunes, I got the plot but really need much more spark...disappointed
