Okay, so I'm going to preface this by saying that i knew how this movie was going to end up, despite not knowing anything about the movie. Knowing this, and maybe because I was also possibly tired, I fell asleep for about 20 minutes. However, when I woke up, I felt like I had not missed anything. The movie was just boring. The ending, predictable. If that is the case, then the other 90 minutes of this movie becomes a waste of time and money. I love James Franco, but this movie was far too artsy and was therefore rated by people who enjoy creative depictions, despite how bad the plot may be.

I’m trying to understand a outdoors guy who works in a sport/outdoor store goes up to the rocky canyons for a fun day. He takes a crappy knife, no hammer, doesn’t tell anyone, no cell/radio/gps, no flare, hardly any food, and he jumps into a crack of a mountain that’s only 3 feet wide. What is this a Homer Simpson outdoor trip? This guy is supposed to be a pro. He should have just gone to the 99cents store to buy his gear. James Franco played this role fantastically. But it is still an arrogant pro outdoor guy who poorly planned his trip and paid for it. Stories based on poor planning don’t get Oscar Nods. If you’re into an arm decap feel free to watch this film. WARNING IF YOUR SQUEAMISH ABOUT BLOOD DO NOT SEE THIS MOVIE. THE SCENE IS WHEN HE’S GOT NO ALTERNATIVE AND THAT PART KINDA SNEAKS UP QUICKLY SO KEEP AN EYE FOR IT. 3 stars out of 5

...definitely gutpunched me. I didn't know the particulars of Aron's story. I left pretty awed, and encouraged that we can get through things with enough will. As for the acting, direction etc...very well done.I don't know that I agree with the award winning whispers going around. I think that those are probably because it is a true story. I have no criticisms of Franco's performance, but think Ryan Reynolds did just as well or better in Buried. I think anyone who sees and likes 127 should check out Buried as well. Don't know why that movie didn't get more box office. Do I think you should put the money into a theater viewing...if you really want to appreciate the dire hopelessness Franco and the cinemetography team want to convey,I say yes. If you want light and fun, just wait for it on blueray. I do not regret spending the money.

91 out of 100 Award winning director Danny Boyle (Slumdog Millionaire, 28 Days Later) makes the powerful, gruesome, triumph drama of the year.

Loved the film, James Franco is brilliant. Had to look away at some parts, but it added to the intensity and realism. Highly recommend.
