Me and my husband are huge Halloween fans and were very excited when we heard the news of the new making. We are also fans of Rob Zombie and really liked House of 1000 Corpse and Devils Rejects. We have met the whole cast at the horror convention. We thought Rob Zombie would make it real gory, in which he did, and do a good job. We enjoyed the movie but it just did not stand up to the name Halloween. We thought it was a great movie but it just did not live up to the name. Did anyone else feel this way?

This film was done very very well. It is probably one of the best re-inventions I have ever seen. Rob Zombie and Cast pulled this movie off very very well. This isn't a gratuitous horror flick like most of the recent ones that have come out, but totally brings back the hidden horror aspect that was captured well in the past. It also has a few good laughs from some of the comments made by the characters to lull you back into a false security, but then backs it up with great shocks and scares. It's been quite a while since I've heard people scream during the movie and not groan with sympathy pains. Bravo Mr. Zombie, Bravo.

People need to stop called this fim a remake because it is not. Rob Zombie specifically stated that "this is a retelling of the story and not a remake in anyway shape or form, so please do not compare this film to any of the originals". But what do people do? They keep calling it a remake and judging it based on the original, because they aren't educated enough to do research on a film before they go and see it. Those of you who are out there writing bad reviews and aren't intelligent enough to see past your own superficiallity and shallowness need to shut your mouths. Leave the critiquing to the people who actually eat, sleep, and breath horror movies. I'm not even going to bother writing my review of this film but am now going to use it to bash the morons of this reveiw forum. Some of you bashed this film, simply because it gave the earlier history of Michael Meyers. How does it feel to be that one dimensional? The idea of a complex horror film must make you fell like a simpleton

Zombie is going back to stage one. It will be his take on how it all started. It will be raw and rough around the edges. There will be more of an explanation of what happened to michael's" brain". Maybe he is the true antichrist. As Loomis says, "YOU CAN'T KILL EVIL!" Zombie has a way of putting a special filthy 1970's edge on his films. I love it! Zombie is a genius in the art of horror. This is not going to be a waste of time. I think everyone should go dressed as a character from the movie on the opening night. This is going to rock!

First off, for all of the morons that write a review here, giving this a low rating because "it is not appropriate for children due to the sex and blood and gore"...DUH. Any parent that would take their child to see this needs to be slapped!! Don't knock this movie based upon you being an idiot.
That said, THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME! I saw it the day it came out and was grinning ear to ear the whole time. I even watched the original two days ago for a refresh. This shows how michael became who he is, explains how Dr. Loomis came in, Zombie flipped a couple story lines which it went in fine. My husband and I loved it. We are Zombie fans as well as horror movie fans and this is right up to par. We've been waiting for this movie for over a year and Zombie still has yet to disappoint!
Don't go in expecting things based on the original. Go in expecting MORE and learning MORE than just a kid that was wearing a clown suit just killed his fam and poof he's an adult. KEEP IT UP ZOMBIE!!!!!!!!
