And its definitely something that many Halloween fans will hail RobZombie for, for a long time to come. He has definitely made it his own, especially with little Michael, played very well by Daeg Faerch, and the new life of Dr. Loomis. McDowell puts a new energy into Loomis that Pleasance did not give us, and he sometimes teeters on the verge of insane himself. And we all have wondered about the new Laurie. Well, considering her first few seconds on screen she is making sexual remarks to her mother about the hardware store owner, you can pretty much guess how our little Laurie has gotten updated. She's got spunk, and Scout Taylor-Compton is going to become a pretty big star pretty fast. She's a REAL teenager, unlike her friends, Lynda and Annie, both played perfectly well however by Annie (Danielle Harris who is almost 30) and Kristina Klebe who is in her 20's. THE FILM IS GREAT, TOTALLY NEW, PERFECTLY CRAFTED, SOMETHING TO SAVOR FOR EVERY HALLOWEEN FAN. Just dont compare.

Me and my husband are huge Halloween fans and were very excited when we heard the news of the new making. We are also fans of Rob Zombie and really liked House of 1000 Corpse and Devils Rejects. We have met the whole cast at the horror convention. We thought Rob Zombie would make it real gory, in which he did, and do a good job. We enjoyed the movie but it just did not stand up to the name Halloween. We thought it was a great movie but it just did not live up to the name. Did anyone else feel this way?

First off, for all of the morons that write a review here, giving this a low rating because "it is not appropriate for children due to the sex and blood and gore"...DUH. Any parent that would take their child to see this needs to be slapped!! Don't knock this movie based upon you being an idiot. That said, THIS MOVIE WAS AWESOME! I saw it the day it came out and was grinning ear to ear the whole time. I even watched the original two days ago for a refresh. This shows how michael became who he is, explains how Dr. Loomis came in, Zombie flipped a couple story lines which it went in fine. My husband and I loved it. We are Zombie fans as well as horror movie fans and this is right up to par. We've been waiting for this movie for over a year and Zombie still has yet to disappoint! Don't go in expecting things based on the original. Go in expecting MORE and learning MORE than just a kid that was wearing a clown suit just killed his fam and poof he's an adult. KEEP IT UP ZOMBIE!!!!!!!!

Lacking the original suspense and simplicity of the 1979 version, Rob Zombie's Halloween left much to be desired and made me want to reach for the barf bag at least once. I am a fan of horror and know that blood and gore are sure to abound, but the killings were horrid. With a brutal scene in the first ten minutes of the movie and borderline snuff-film death scenes, this movie was little more than a poorly adapted rip-off, not a recharged re-make. While interesting aspects such as the childhood of Myers and the intro of the heroine as a baby make welcome additions to the plot-line, it was overall not worth the cash. Rental-worthy for sure, but not worth the ticketed price.

I very much enjoyed this movie, sure there was cursing, and nudity in it, but when you look movies up it tells you what all is in the movie...Eg. Strong Brutal bloody violence and terror throughout, sexual content, graphic nudity and language,,,so with some of the reviews.."This was a terrible movie there was sex and the "f" word my kids were there and yada yada..well you should know using common sense when a movie is not fit for kids...hence why its rated R.....But I thought that it was a spectacular movie, the flow was well done, kept to the point. and Mr. Zombie did a fantastic job, I highly recomend this movie, if your into horror films and dont mind cursing, sexual content...have the mind of an adult, and not be so offended by things of that matter...and for those parents that gave this movie a bad review because their kids watched it too....use common sense and dont bring your kids to a RATED R movie.
