Philip Nathanael Johnson was born in Guatemala City, Guatemala in a small apartment complex. After several moves to and from the States, he moved to Ecuador at the age of 11 with his mother, older brother, and younger sister. At age 14, he moved to South Carolina with his Grandparents to finish High School. He received his GED at 17 from a Community College in Florida while living with his father. After working in fast food for a year, he was making plans to join the Air Force, but decided to pursue an acting career instead and joined the "Covenant Players", a traveling theater company based out of Oxnard, California. After touring around the country for two years, he moved back to Florida where he lived almost a year before helping his mother and siblings move to Peru. After two months in Panama City, a stranger bought plane tickets for all six to fly to Lima, Peru. Almost drowned at the age of nine off the coast of San Jose, Guatemala after being pulled out by the undertow. After over two hours of treading water he was rescued by three locals whom his mother paid to swim out. Studied the Meisner technique at Playhouse West. Is the second cousin of Mark Foster of the band Foster the People. While serving on the Tech Team of the Oasis Church, he was given the nicknames "Philip the 3rd" and "P3", due to there being two other well-known Philips at the church.
