Danny Minnick grew up as a city kid in Seattle, Washington. He began skating at the age of 11 and at 14 he emerged into the skateboarding Industry when Seattle Washington's legendary skateboarding shop and team (Fall Out Records and Skateboards) They saw much potential and decided to sponsor him right off the cuff. One year later; H Street Skateboards picked him up along with riders Danny Way and Eric Koston. Danny then moved to San Diego, California where he trained and skated with the company's team. Danny filmed his first video (documentary) there with an intro climbing the Mirage Hotel Volcano in Las Vegas! Upon finishing his first debut, Danny returned to Seattle to finish his high school years. Their he began Documenting footage of his own skating as well as filming his teammates work, which drove him to have a love and passion for film and all that was to come. Within the first couple of years of experimenting and developing his craft in film; H Streets Plan B Owner/Director and Film maker Mike Ternasky; who was an inspiration to Danny, passed away. Danny's compassion compelled him to dedicate his first film to Mike Ternasky and his vision for the H Street's team riders. he titled it . Brotherly Love, in which he filmed, directed and edited. He distributed 500 copies as gifts to fellow riders and fans. Danny then traveled the west coast where he met talents such as Tom Penny, Chad Muska, Mike Chin, Bob Burnquist, and Rune Glifberg. On his travels he developed and produced his next film titled Balance in the world of Chaos Based on a peom Written By Kein Lieu, sold 15,000 units worldwide. Danny became burnt out from skating full-time and decided to take a break and focus completely on developing as a filmmaker. He began getting jobs filming his friend Chad Muska for Shortys video "Fulfill the Dream" 70,000 units sold world wide. Danny went onto filming other projects for Thrasher, 411, and Transworld videos. He also worked on his third project Genie of the Lamp. Sold 20,000 units, and premiered in Seattle at the King Kat Theater. Moving then to Hollywood to pursue his dreams fully, Danny began on Skate Nation. He started their by filming Tony Hawks first 900. It sold 20,000 units. Then to "Collage" the best of all his films which he filmed, directed, and skated, sold 20,000 units as well, dedicated to Keenan Milton, also premiered at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood. Danny then went onto auditioning for a Los Angeles Film School short called "Flipside", directed by Dustin Voight. He booked the part right away, and there he started acting. The film won best short of the year. He then worked on The Blvd. featuring his favorite director Quentin Tarantino and actors Harold Hunter; "Kids" and Max Perlich; "Drugstore Cowboy", and "Blow", which sold 20,000 units. Danny then got a job skating and filming for Director Chris Fisher in his up in coming film Dirty starring Cube Gooding Jr and produced by David Hillary. Danny at that moment fulfilled his dream of filming features and earned his on title Skateboard Cinematographer. In the mean time The Blvd. was being adored by many and launched him into a whole new network of people. From there he worked on such films as Wassup Rockers for Larry Clark in which he met the Rockers and Producer Kevin Turen. After being on set day after day, Danny was interested in acting and was instantly interested in widening his horizon. So he asked his friend Pancho Moler to take him to audit his class taught by Art Evans in which actor Sidney Poitier was guest speaking. Truly inspired by Sidneys story; Danny began honing his own craft as an actor. He began his efforts with Art Evans that has led him to work with William Alderson. Danny studied and acted along side Bill in his first play Sam Sheppards, "Fool For Love" and continued on to graduate from the William Alderson Acting Studio. Danny has also recently auditioned for the Actors Studio and continues to develop daily as an actor. His most recent work has been acting alongside Shannon Sossaman in Man without a Head. He has also continues to skateboard. His most recent work involves doing all the stunt work for double Olympic Gold medal Champion Shaun White in his up and coming video game commercial.
