A chance meeting and subsequent marriage of an African-American man in the military and a demure yet beautiful Danish-German woman in Copenhagen, Denmark, created the sensational Jaqueline "Jaq" Cherie Fleming.Though her birth mother was lost to the world tragically when she was a mere nine months old, Jaqueline grew up to become a strikingly beautiful, talented, and well-spoken woman with a big heart and strong aspirations. Raised in various cities including New York and Chicago, her true home is St. Louis, MO. Five mother figures helped encourage her in her dreams to perform and an incredibly large family, now consisting of at least twenty siblings, giving her the background and imagination to tackle and perfect a wide range of roles. She immediately took to the arts and began performing as early as age eight and by sixteen had landed her first professional role in "For Colored Girls" (Ntozake Shange). After finishing high school in New York City, she relocated to St. Louis where she received a full academic scholarship to Webster University and from there completed her studies with a degree in film and television from Columbia in Chicago. While in Chicago, she landed dozens of regional and national commercials, independent films, print and voice-over jobs and was honored with the prestigious Jeff Award, for best actress in an ensemble in Chicago which is the highest award received in the theatre community in the windy city. After appearing in Love Jones (with Nia Long and Larenz Tate) and Losing Isaiah (with Halle Berry), she decided to move to Hollywood per Halle Berrys advice for more film opportunities. The small screen beckoned for her presence soon after landing in Hollywood and appeared on such sitcoms as "The Jamie Foxx Show," "For Your Love," "In the House," "Damon" , "Good News", "Sparks", "The Andy Dick Show"," Steve Harvey", "The Wayans Bros", "CSI: Miami" and several sketch performances on late night TV to name a few. Between television jobs Jaqueline performed on the big screen and in theatre. Some of her studio films include "Mr. 3000" with Bernie Mac directed by Charles Stone III, (Drumline) and Hair Show starring comedian-actress Mo'Nique, "The Brooke Ellison Story", directed by the late Christopher Reeves, The 20th Century Fox feature, "Just My Luck" (starring Lindsay Lohan and directed by Donald Petrie {How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days}). Jaq landed the role of Tiffany, the African American lead in this film; a record assistant who has a huge crush on Jake (Chris Pine), manager of the band McFly. Jaq can also be seen in the comedy "Last Holiday", a Paramount Feature that stars Queen Latifah, LL Cool J and Timothy Hutton; she plays, Tanya Byrd, the younger sister to Queen Latifah who is an aspiring country western singer and one her favorite projects is "Sister Switch", which is a cute, funny urban movie similar to Freaky Friday where she plays the lead opposite Kadeem Hardison (A different World). To date Jaqueline has over 20 film credits to her name and is looking forward to working as a series regular while continuing her career as a film actress. In her spare time she is actively involved in volunteer work and charities and loves talking to aspiring artist in her hometown on how to break into showbiz.
She is the cousin of Football Hall of Famer, Kellen Winslow. She was awarded the 1996 Joseph Jefferson Award Citation for Actress in a Supporting Role in a Play for "The Trial of One Short-Sighted Black Woman" at the ETA Creative Arts Foundation in Chicago, Illinois.
