Janick Gers was born in Hartlepool on January 27, 1957. His father had been in the Polish Navy, but settled in England after meeting his mother.

He bought it fairly cheap when he was 18 years old.Even though he plays right-handed guitar, he is actually left-handed.He is a fan of English football club Newcastle United.
