Robin Hood was definately a must see movie. Before going to see the movie someone had told me that they heard it wasn't as good as everyone was making it out to be, only giving it 2 1/2 stars. I tottaly disagree Russell Crowe is amazing as always in the movie and if you know somewhat the history of Robin Hood you will appreciate the movie. The acting was amazing and some parts were actually funny. I would recommend this movie to an 18 and over crowd just because the language can be hard to follow at times and younger kids won't be able to understand as much as an adult would. All in all defniately worth the money and time to go see.

Ridley Scott and Russell Crowe have teamed up for yet another epic film. This film is full of action, adventure, romance and yes, long bows! If you've seen Robin Hood Price of Thieves and liked it, then you'll love this take on the classic story. The writers put a refreshing twist on the story and it doesn't give you that recycled feeling you tend to get when watching films that have been made over as many times as "Robin Hood." This movie, despite the fighting, is a great family movie. Maybe not appropriate for young kids prone to bad dreams, but kids old enough to handle their share of action. So in conclusion: Great film, refreshing story, must see, great way to get the summer movies rolling!

Leave your old notions of Robin Hood at home; sit back and enjoy something new This is actually much like "Wicked" in that this movie tells the back story of Robin Hood rather than focusing on his time as an outlaw. It is historically accurate in other details which was gratifying. We enjoyed it very much - nicely acted by a great cast. Fun to see William Hurt in this kind of role. The last battle scene is terrific - great action in an unusual location. Must have been incredibly tough to shoot this footage! Writing could have been a bit tighter for a a shorter, more intense movie but we were satisfied with how it played out and enjoyed watching the buildling attraction between Robin and Marian.

When you see Scott Free, Imagine Entertainment, Russell Crowe and Cate Blanchett as part of a movie - no question: go see the film. It has a few spots that are slow, but if you are paying attention its a set up for the big deal that's coming. Crowe is at his best, methodical and clearly enjoying the role. Blanchett, no stranger to films regarding her native England is wonderful as Marian and definitely puts a new spin on this character. Action is good, locales and cinematography are just right and makes the case for the beautiful countrysides. If you're thinking Errol Flynn and Basil Rathbone sword play, not gonna happen, but you don't care - the action is excellent. The flashbacks, the main characters all were great - the story was well constructed, had humor, romance all in the right places. I'm a huge Robin Hood fan and enjoyed this immensely. I'll be purchasing it when it comes out on DVD!
