Storyline:
Elderly and a virtual prisoner in her own home due to her concerned staff and daughter Carol, Margaret Thatcher, Britain's first woman prime minister, looks back on her life as she clears out her late husband Denis's clothes for the Oxfam shop. Denis is seen as being her rock as she first enters parliament and then runs for the leadership of the Conservative Party, culminating in her eventual premiereship. Now his ghost joins her to comment on her successes and failures, sometimes to her annoyance, generally to her comfort until ultimately, as the clothes are sent to the charity shop, Denis departs from Margaret's life forever.

Meryl is a master.... so it's not surprising to see everyone rave about her performance in this film. Whether or not you'll appreciate the film's unique take on the latter/declining years of a politico's life, is up for debate. But all in all, it'll be impossible for you not to be moved in parts as well as blown away by the control and precision of this phenomenal actor who will go down as the master of our time...

Enjoyed the magnificent performance by Meryl Streep. Wonderful character study and portrayal of dementia's toll, but not certain that I know much more about Margaret Thatcher as a leader.

Meryl Streep did an amazing job! Jim Broadbent was also wonderful. The film is a highly interesting character study of an important historical figure and definitely worth seeing.

How the story is made up with Flashbacks from the aging Mrs Thatcher is not correct and an inhumane treatment of the former Prime Minister, the first woman as head of government in a western state. Also the picture this movie gives about great performing women is not nice, they are shown as neglecting kids and husband and just having their career in mind. This film has nothing to do with a historic portrait of Maggie Thatcher. The great collaboration with Ronald Reagan is missing - only one short picture with him. Such a film is not worth seeing: It starts from real life and gives a wrong picture.
Meryl Streep should have renounced to play such a lousy cheeky story.

Meryl, Meryl, Meryl what a fantastic job. It was her movie. She is Margaret Thatcher from the first frame until the last...An amazing performance and let's not forget Jim Broadbent who played her husband with obvious glee. It was an award winning performance by an actress who knows what she is doing.
