Dala relaxes on holiday in an exclusive skiing resort but noted British playboy, Sir Charles Lytton is in town. He is secretly "The Phantom" - infamous jewel thief who has eyes on the Pink Panther. Charles's playboy nephew George follows to the resort in an attempt to steal it and blame it on "The Phantom", not knowing that it's his uncle. On the Phantom's trail is Inspector Jacques Clouseau, from France, and his wife who, unknowingly to Jacques, is the lover of Charles and helper in the Phantom's crime. I'm giving this movie a "go" rating with the caveat that I was with two 8 year old boys who couldn't stop laughing through the whole movie. Laughter is contagious ! That being said, I must admit that at 49 and someone who considers herself rather fussy about her movie selections ( i.e. I hate chilck flicks), I found myself truly enjoying Martin's portrayal of Inspector Clouseau . It's slapstick, yes, but cleverly so. John Cleese was witty as ever and Andy Garcia added the va-voom for us moms taking kids. Well, at least us older moms !!! The sexual inuendo was on a level that was perfectly suitable for children...right over their heads, but fun for adults. I'd buy this movie when it comes out on DVD, so I guess that says a lot. It's hard to find a movie that the whole family can enjoy, this one fits the bill.

The whole family enjoyed this movie. We thought it was a funny (and yes often very silly) movie. We took our daughters - ages 17 & 20 - and they laughed themselves silly at certain parts of the movie. There were a lot of kids in the theatre laughing just as hard. If you are a Steve Martin fan and want to have a fun afternoon at the movies, go see the Pink Panther 2. I actually thought it was better than the first one.

I am an Avid movie goer and I am a student of comedy. This movie overall is very good. What some critics expect to see is a Peter Sellers version of the Pink Panther, and they go in with a closed mind. This movie is very good. The plot is solid with a good twist at the end. The movie puts in funny scenes with the supporting cast to fill in the blanks between the key plot points of the movie, which is where the first one suffered the most, ie, Lily Thomlin and Andy Garcia and John Cleese. Go see it.... chances are, you will go away looking toward buying the DVD when it comes out in the future.

A must see. Very close to the original Pink Panther movies. Action packed & a laugh a minute. Almost fell out of my seat laughing.

I've always enjoyed the general purposeful nuttiness of the ?PINK PANTHER? series of films, both with Peter Sellers & recently with STEVE MARTIN. Martin stars as the bumbling-but-successful French Inspector Clouseau. This time, he joins a ?Dream Team? of sleuths (including one played by ANDY GARCIA) who are trying to track down the ?Tornado? who?s been stealing very famous artifacts from around the world. Although she?s somewhat wasted in this film (compared to the fine work she was allowed to do with Martin in 1984?s ?ALL OF ME?), LILY TOMLIN appears as a woman trying to help Clouseau with being more ?politically correct? (which is a pretty fruitless endeavor!). While it wasn?t great, the audience (including loads of kids) responded with a bunch of LAUGHS to the shenanigans going on, & the adults seemed to like the mild romantic elements. While I didn?t find this as good as previous episodes, it?s a generally pleasant distraction (and we could certainly use that in these times).
