SKILLS LIKE THIS is a wonderful little independent comedy. The movie has a clever script, funny dialog and actually a nice little story that holds it all together. The acting is great and directing and photography is polished. Don't expect a big action film with sex and violence but a fun little comedy that may just you.

For those who appreciate low budget independent productions by first timers, this is a Must Go. For the rest of us, this is an interesting dark comedy with quirkiness galore. It had several laugh-out moments, some good drama and an intriguing romance. The female lead looks like she could be Alyssa Milano's younger sister, the main character sports the largest white guy Afro you'll ever see, there is a bicycle named Gloria and other oddities come at you all through the movie. Mostly people talk and talk and talk, which succeeds much of the time but occasionally gets tedious. The cinematography features lots of close-ups, probably to help make you part of the conversations going on rather than just observing them. This movie is worth checking out when you want something different than a big mainstream movie or an art-house film featuring big name actors trying desperately to show that they really can act.
