Keeping an audience spellbound is a tough gig. Not so easy a thing to write, even harder to produce. Every now and then, things come together in just the right way as to make for one monumentally entertaining feature. This is one of those films. Were it not for this subject matter's conflict resolutions, I'd give this one the highest of my regard, as being especially enjoyable among mostly pabulum on screen right now. Problem is, while they did everything right, end to end, the story itself is an ugly one in that it's MOST uncomfortable to watch. While this is precisely the intention of the film makers, I tend to enjoy movies that leave me feeling better when I leave the theater, than I did when I bought the ticket. This is definitely worth seeing though. In fact, you won't be at all disappointed at having plunked down those big bucks for the whole 'night at the movies' package. Just don't imagine this movie is going to make you feel happier on exiting because it won't.

I just saw "Disconnect" movie with friends. If you have kids, an iPad at home, and Facebook is part of your kids' life, you want to see this movie. It is a powerful commentary of contemporary American life. It rings so genuine to real life, you will easily see yourself in it. If you are a film student or a patron of the arts, you will not want to miss this gem of American cinematography. Artistically, I hunger for movies like this, and I am fortunate if I find one every two years or so. It is rare to find a film where exceptional acting, high technical quality of Hollywood movie studio, and the heart and edge of an independent film script untouched by the movie studio system come together to create in your very gut a reality that is so powerful. This movie brings sets the tone for everyday things that really happen to people. I say bring your kids to this movie. It'll scare them in a great way when teaching them about many faulty possibilities when sending a text message and talking to people online whom you don't really know. Omg, this movie is so great. I'm an adult and it taught me some things as well.

I don't know why this movie didn't get any publicity. It is so deserving! I highly recommend seeing it not only for it's quality, but the important issues it touches on.

I rate this a solid B+. Just got back and thought it was timely and very topical considering the way we live today. I think that most people should see it if for no other reason than to gain a better understanding of the ramifications of being connected"to everyone and everything all the time. Please understand that this is a movie of interwoven stories that jumps from person to person yet most of the stories connect at some point. Solid performances and sends a message without being preachy. I say go and enjoy.
