Black Nativity is a good film, the actor/actresses were awesome. It's like a musical film, so singing is involved throughout. It's a great Christmas holiday movie and will warm your heart in the end. Very good spiritual film.

It was kinda like a feature length afterschool special I used to watch back in the day (but w/singing.) Story would probably be interesting for elementary & middle school age, but high schoolers would probably think it was sentimental corny.
Didn't know it was gonna be a musical going in but none of the other actors can keep up w/Jennifer Hudson's singing. Liked the idea of a preacher who had a broken household. Some rough transitions w/the first nativity parallels to modern day NYC. Still felt a bit amateurish in the execution (better than a student film but not quite ready for the big screen) Maybe a top flight editor could have made it more coherent?
Fave part was the singing scenes in the Harlem Church (although my own church experiences are more low key.) Love Forrest W's skillz although the best black preacher I've ever seen on film was by Robert Duvall in a movie called The Apostle.

I loved it because it had so much meaning. I cried, clapped and shouted out loud because I could identity with the characters. Everyone will not be able to relate--but I did enjoy it very much. For a change--no sex, nudity--just a warm, heartfelt story about the real meaning of Christ-mas! Enjoy

I was skeptical about seeing it after i read one bad review but I still wanted to see it cause the previews had me curious... Im glad I followed my instinct and saw the movie. It made me laugh and get teary eyed. it is a family feel good movie you see ppl and their flaws, forgiveness after all the pain and heart ache. Loved Tyrese and the young man that played his son. awesome collaboration with the starts

I thought the movie was OK; obviously not up for Academy Award nomination. It was a little too much of a musical for me rather than straight dialogue, but it seemed appropriate. Movie's fit for all ages; has a slight message in it.
