I had low expectations for this flick. However, seeing Costner in the Jack Ryan movie gave me some hope. It appears Costner, like Liam Neeson, is settling in on roles fitted to the one-man gang/government/spy genre. I get it. The pacing of the film was fine. I just wished there were more actual "spy" stuff sprinkled in. Perhaps there was more of an emphasis, on purpose, to portray the family/husband side of the spy. Is it worth seeing in the theater? Possibly on a matinee, if you catch one.

As expected the movie had plenty of violence while at the same time, more comedy than I would have expected from a "thriller". This made the movie enjoyable, although some of the action was highly unrealistic.

Costner is a CIA agent at the end of his career, dying possible of cancer. CIA allows that? It started OK, like a normal movie. Then, it went slalom downhill, all that stupidity. I always have the fear that these filmmakers just make up anything to "milk" the moviegoer. This is another piece of proof I suppose. It gets more absurd as it gets closer and closer to the 2-hr. length mark. If you haven't seen it, wait for the DVD from the library, or Netflix. No need to throw money out the window that desperately.

I liked the movie, not loved it. I felt like it was promoted as an action packed movie with a sense of humor. It was more of an action/story about his relationship with his daughter, with a little bit of humor thrown in. I will see it again when it comes out on NetFlix, but I won't pay full price again. I probably won't see it at the cheap seats either, unless there is nothing else to see. The editing was HORRIBLE! I don't know what happened there. One of the main characters was really weird for a CIA agent. I didn't get her. I thought that Kevin Costner, his wife and daughter did a good job. Definitely not for kids. There is a scene at a tatoo parlor that shows a naked woman sitting from behind. Then there is a scene where two women are practicing a performance and kiss. They are partially blocked by smoke so that you can't see much.
