All reviews agree that Doomsday is a rip of several hundred similar genre movies mushed together. You're openness to being entertained (and watching countless hands/heads chopped off) will determine whether or not you consider this a good thing. Descent (the director's previous film) garnered a lot of positive praise as it had been a while since such a bare-bones horror movie had hit the big screen. Doomsday is certainly the opposite of bare-bones, what with its frenetic pace and sprawling settings (from post-apocalyptic to zombie town to medieval to ridiculous car chases), but I believe the film retains the same sort of dedication to the audience: this isn't a pandering plot with clap-worthy taglines. The film takes an idea and takes it in every direction possible. Ridiculous? Hell yes. But any movie that tires me out by the end credits is worth the price of admission. So if you're already having doubts, stay away. But if you're just curious...? Go!

All i can say is if you like the Mad Max series You will like the this movie. Modern day Max, but a female

My girlfriend and I went and saw this at an early matinee because we wanted to hear and see the movie, not the annoying people who never know when to shut up!! It was fabulous! We were the only two in the theater at that particular showing. The soundtrack is awesome, says my girlfriend. You have to see it in big screen mode. It reminds us of a modern "Mad Maxx" xcept "Rhona Mitra" is the boss in this movie. We especially went to see it because we followed Rhona Mitra in her episodes of Nip Tuck...plus she's hot. Special effects were to die for...no pun intented. We loved it! My girlfriend wants to own the movie and download some of the songs from the soundtrack. I would like a couple of posters from the movie. It was off the chain as far as we are concerned.

Action packed, If you liked "MADMAX" and "the Road Warrior" your gonna' love this. The acting,makeup, and costumes all great! LOVED IT !

Doomsday won me over the moment I saw Eden's removable eye(she has a prosthetic eye) with a tiny camera inside to record stuff with(very Scifi).The movie is massively over the top from the first few minutes, with a blood spattering massacre at the new Great Wall of Scotland, and then a sequence where Eden takes a bunch of random bad guys. (There's a naked woman in the bathtub, so of course she has a shotgun with her. Who wouldn't?)And it just gets crazier and crazier. Strap yourself in tight cause you're going on the ride of your life. It's a thrilling, gory and epic masterpiece. It's 2035 and Eden is sent into Glasgow to locate a cure for a 2nd outbreak of the Reaper virus. Her task once she joins her crew beyond the quarantine wall,will be anything but easy. The savage survivors who've been shunned by their own goverment, are very angry to say the least and will stop at nothing to stop Eden & her crew in their tracks,especially once they realize Eden won't be their ticket to freedom.
