to your wish list?
Storyline:
Adrienne Willis, a woman with her life in chaos, retreats to the tiny coastal town of Rodanthe, in the Outer Banks of North Carolina, to tend to a friend's inn for the weekend. Here she hopes to find the tranquility she so desperately needs to rethink the conflicts surrounding her -- a wayward husband who has asked to come home, and a teen-aged daughter who resents her every decision. Almost as soon as Adrienne gets to Rodanthe, a major storm is forecast and a guest named Dr. Paul Flanner arrive. The only guest at the inn, Flanner is not on a weekend escape but rather is there to face his own crisis of conscience. Now, with the storm closing in, the two turn to each other for comfort and, in one magical weekend, set in motion a life-changing romance that will resonate throughout the rest of their lives.

I am a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. He is the author of Nights in Rodanthe. I read the book long ago and I Loved It! He also is responsible for The Notebook, A Walk to Remember and Message in a Bottle. I can't wait to go see this movie becuase I already know how great it is going to be. One heads up, Nicholas Sparks books are typically tear jerkers in one way or another.

Nights in Rodanthe Was An Amazing Movie. It Was A Great Love Story. Richard Gere And Diane Lane Had Such Chemistry Together. Im A Guy And I Almost Shead A Tear. Definetly Go With Your Date. Extremely Good Movie. Definetly A Must GO!

Seriously I'm not really a big fan of Nicholas Sparks because his story always associates with people dying (breaks my heart). It depraves me of happy ending, that's just my point of view why I can't stand most of his story. Anyway upon learning that Gere and Lane starred in this film, though I was quite hesitant, I gave this one a try with more enthusiasm than I have expected (I'm a Gere & Lane fan since I was 9 [thanks Cotton Club]).
So why I gave it a "Go" instead of "Must Go"? Like what I have said when I read the book, I found that Paul and Adrienne's love story was hurried that made me doubt if it was-indeed-an ever lasting love. I wish Paul stayed not only for 5 days I wish it could have been a week or two just so I would see how their attraction evolved.
Well aside from that I found it very romantic and I really think that adults will mostly relate to this than teenagers. Wonder about actors portrayal? Gere and Lane... WOW they're just wow.
MOVIES REVIEWER
Last night I saw the advance press screening for this charming movie-adaptation of the novel (same name).
It received a thunderous ovation when it ended.
The Q&A session with author Nicholas Sparks was illuminating and well-received.
Richard Gere and Diane Lane were superb as the leads - they had such wonderful on-screen chemistry! The supporting cast delivered commendable performances.
The movie, beautifully rendered, can be described as evocative, sensitive, emotional, contemplative - and has all the essential qualities of a beautiful love story - loss, sadness, pain, happiness/joy, etc.
Nicholas Sparks understands how to tug at your heartstrings/emotions.
Verdict:
This is a GREAT date movie.
Heck, it is a really good all-around movie.
If you love THE NOTEBOOK, MESSAGE IN A BOTTLE, and A WALK TO REMEMBER - all movie-adaptations of Nicholas Spark's novels - you WILL fall in love with NIGHTS IN RODANTHE.

I saw this movie with my mom who is a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. I'm only 13 but I loved this movie. It was romantic and had a great story line. It was a good chick flick. In the end everyone was crying in the theater, including me. It was very touching and the drama was full on. If you're in the mood for a good romance then I suggest Nights in Rodanthe. The performances were all great and it was just a great movie.
