Mercedes de la Zerda is a Canadian born actress who started professionally acting at the age of 15. Her mother first noticed her seriousness and devotion to the craft when Mercedes starred in a grade 6 production of Shakespeares "A Winter's Tale". After 2 years of training with industry professionals, Carole Tarlington and Ty Olson, Mercedes signed with one of the top 10 talent agencies in North America. Mercedes made a splash into the world of professional acting when she booked her very first audition on the MTV series "2gether". She went on to work on such American series as "Twilight Zone", "Stargate SG-1", "Dead Zone," "Tru-Calling", and "4400"; in addition, Mercedes has also appeared in feature films such as "John Tucker Must Die" and "Punch". As a result, Mercedes has worked alongside Eliza Dushku, "The Hangover's" Zach Galifianakis, Amanda Tapping, Britney Snow, "V" star Joel Gretsch, Anthony Michael Hall, Richard Dean Anderson, and "Star Trek's" Clifton Collins Jr. In 2006 Mercedes stepped away from acting in preparation to travel to Santiago, Chile on an 18 month mission. While in Chile, Mercedes said she "cut [herself] off form life back home and dedicate[d] her time and attention to serving the people of Chile." Although the time spent in Chile took her away from acting, Mercedes says she has no regrets about going and says she is a "better actor and person for it." Late in 2008, Mercedes returned to Vancouver and began studying at college while adjusting to life back in North America. Mercedes resumed her career in 2009.
