Ten year old Harley Bird recently made history by becoming the youngest person to ever receive a BAFTA Award for her performance as the voice of much-loved cartoon character Peppa Pig. She has made the move from voice artist to film actress in her role as Piper in "How I Live Now". Despite being up against stiff competition from well known faces such as Daniel Roche of "Outnumbered" fame for his role in "Just William", Harley took home the BAFTA trophy for the Performer category at the 2011 Children's Award s for her work as a voice artist. Harley is represented by children's talent agency Alphabet Kidz. After only being signed to the agency a month, she landed the role of Peppa at age 6. Harley has been the voice of Peppa since 2009 and has appeared in over 100 episodes of the animated series which is shown in 180 countries, including Channel Five and Nick Jr in the UK. Harley's famous voice is now well-known internationally as the series is becoming more and more popular in the US. Harley's voice is also used for the range of Peppa Pig toys and Peppa Pig World theme park at Paultons Park in Hampshire. Harley has also presented a feature on CBBC's Newsround and been interviewed in character as Peppa on BBC Radio One's Chris Moyles Breakfast Show.
