James McDougall was born in Oshawa Ontario and raised in the small town of Cobourg Ontario. He began acting at the early age of 4, when his parents enrolled him in a drama course. Acting has been James' passion ever since. He participated in community theatre, children's theatre, and various film/theatre classes in the Cobourg area until he was 17, at which point he moved to Ottawa Ontario and majored in Drama at Canterbury Arts High School. After venturing to Toronto ON for a year, majoring in Theatre at York University James returned to Ottawa and worked with Theatre companies such as Encore!, ASNY, TAMIR, and GOYA. He then moved to Victoria B.C. where he embraced the theatre scene, acting with companies such as Theatre Inconnu, Atomic Vaudeville, and Langham Court Theatre. James now lives in Toronto and since moving back east he has been focusing on the TV/Film world but is always willing to return to his theatre roots if the right project comes along. Since Feb 2012 he has acted in numerous feature films, short films, TV Shows, web series, and commercials. Look for James in the feature "ABCs Of Death 2" where he worked with acclaimed director Vincenzo Natali as the lead actor in segment U, as a lead in AlterSpec Films award winning thriller "American Drone" (now online), and as Jack in the new comedy/horror feature "SOS: Save Our Skins" which was co-produced by academy award nominee Steve Coogan. "SOS" is on FEARnet in the U.S. and on Bite TV in Canada. James also has been busy dabbling in the production side of things helping actors create their own demo reels at Mountain Man Media. James has a tattoo of the Sublime sun from their album cover "40oz To Freedom" on his left arm. After casting James in "The Futurist", director Johan A. du Toit wrote the film "American Drone" with James in mind to play the lead. James was the first ever recipient of the OYP Spirit Award at Orleans Young Players Theatre School located in Orleans Ontario. James got his first taste of performing at the young age of 2 when his father (a teacher) brought him on stage for a high school assembly to sing "I won't grow up" from the musical "Peter Pan".
