Ginny Tyler was born on August 8, 1925 in Berkeley, California, USA as Merrie Virginia Erlandson. She is known for her work on Die Hexe und der Zauberer (1963), The Fantastic Four (1978) and Brer Rabbit's Christmas Carol (1992). She was married to Albert Jacobson and Lowell Fenton. She died on July 13, 2012 in Issaquah, Washington, USA.
Named a Disney Legend in 2006 for her work as part of Disneyland Records stock company, her live performances in Disneyland and her voice work on Die Hexe und der Zauberer (1963) and Mary Poppins (1964). She started out on radio before hosting a children's TV show in Seattle. By the late 1950s, she had moved to Los Angeles and was narrating record albums for Disney, including "Bambi" and "Babes in Toyland". She grew up in Seattle. Graduate of the University of Washington drama school. Among many other roles, she voiced "Casper the Friendly Ghost" in 1963; Jan, the damsel in distress in "Space Ghost" cartoons in 1966, and many female characters in early episodes of the 1960s television series "Davey and Goliath.". She established a studio, Whimsey Works, in the 1970s in Burbank to share her craft. Her voice had long been featured in the chorus of birds outside Disney's Tiki Room. In 2006, she was inducted into the Disney Legends, a hall-of-fame program that honors those who have had a lasting impact on the Walt Disney Co. When episodes of television's "The Mickey Mouse Club" were repackaged for syndication in 1963, Tyler became the head Mouseketeer who hosted new segments of the TV show that were woven around the old.
