Cameron Jack was born and bred into a working class family in Partick, Glasgow in 1972. Unruly and lacking direction in early life, his behaviour led to a late 80's court appearance. However he showed talent while appearing on stage at school, and in amateur productions, and In 1992 he received the Margaret Rutherford scholarship to study acting at Mountview theatre school in North London. Graduating in 1995, he set out on an extremely eclectic career, appearing in everything from West end musicals to Hollywood blockbusters. He first came to prominence with many television appearances in the mid to late 1990's, appearing in standard TV fare like Taggart, The Bill, The Vanishing Man and Lucy Sullivan is getting married, in between appearing in hit West end musicals like We Will Rock You, and Les Miserables. In 1999, he was cast in ill fated sitcom All Along The Watchtower, as regular character Fraser, but the BBC show lasted only one series. Sharing stage and screen time with the likes of Brian Cox, Michael Sheen, Gerard Butler, Anne Hathaway and Gary Oldman, he has continued to work solidly in television and film throughout the last few years with appearances in Doctors, Fur TV and as Jimmy Drummond in Adrian Shergold's acclaimed He Kills Coppers. In 2011, he was cast in the final part of Christopher Nolan's Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight Rises, as one of Bane's (Tom Hardy) henchmen. 2013 saw him film the horror movie Wandering Rose, BBC drama Waterloo Road and three brand new TV Sitcoms including Man Down, one of Rik Mayall's last TV credits. Has The Gaelic words 'Alba Gu Brath' (Scotland Forever) tattooed on his right arm. Won A Scholarship To train At Mountview Theatre School In London. Prolific theatre director who has directed many theatre productions in London including A Clockwork Orange, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest and Trainspotting. Played Begbie opposite Gerard Butler's Renton in the stage adaptation of Trainspotting in the mid 90's. Has 9 tattoos, most of which have a Scottish theme. Was cast in Tom Hooper's Les Miserables, but was unable to film his convict role due to a prior theatre commitment. He did however get to work on the soundtrack after filming was completed. Nominated for an 'Offie' (Off West end award) in 2013, for play 'The Life Of Stuff' at Theatre 503 in May 2013. Has added song lyrics from Scottish folk songs 'Caledonia' and 'Scotland The Brave', a Swallow and a heart with his parents names on it to his many Scottish themed tattoo's, taking his current total up to 13. Wanted to be an actor after seeing Gary Oldman's performance in 'The Firm'. Got to work with his hero in 'the Dark Knight Rises'. Got his break appearing onstage in Richard III in London.
