Gillian had originally planned to follow a career in Bio-Chemistry but she was singled out in a music lesson at school and given the lead in the school play. She's been acting ever since. She has appeared in many films and stage productions including Sondheim's "Into the Woods", "Cabaret", "Romeo and Juliet", "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" and she even played Lucifer in "In the Beginning". The first film she appeared in was the British independent "The Winter Sun is a Lie" which won the Best Feature Film award at the 0110 International Digital Film Festival 2005. Many independent movies followed and Gillian showed her diversity playing a huge range of different characters. In 2003 she was cast as the rude, ballsy yet vulnerable Jenni in "Jack, The Last Victim" turning in a powerful, emotional performance which set her apart as an exceptional talent. In 2009 Gillian wrote the black comedy action film "Hit Girls" which was produced by Rosie Fellner and supported by Working Title Films. Gillian and Rosie star as two female assassins opposite Joey Ansah ("The Bourne Ultimatum"). She then went on to appear in the multi award winning "Father's Day" opposite Kevin R. McNally ("Pirates of the Caribbean") and Toby Richards ("Rise of the Footsoldier"). 2010 saw her taking a supporting role in BAFTA nominated director Julian Gilbey's feature film "A Lonely Place to Die" with Golden Globe nominee Melissa George, Sean Harris and Eamonn Walker.
In September 2011 Gillian won her first full-contact boxing match in front of 1,500 people at the HMV Forum, London.
