Roger is a writer-producer and a noted film theorist and historian. Roger was born and raised in the suburbs of Los Angeles. He began producing shorts and music videos in New York during the 90s and moved back to L.A. Besides his work with Brooklyn Reptyle Films, he also produced the Sundance award -winning documentary Big River Man (2009) with Olivia Newton-John and Oscar winner Maria Florio . He has worked for the Sundance Film Festival the past 13 years and was also the Programming Director of both the Silver Lake Film Festival and the Downtown Film Festival - Los Angeles. Brooklyn Reptyle Films (BRF) is a multi-media production company whose primary goal is to create compelling films, television, and Internet content as well as commercials, music videos and webisodes. 'Christo Dimassis' and Roger M. Mayer started BRF in 2001 and serve as its core production team. Their films include the multiple award -winning comedies Boppin' at the Glue Factory (2009) and Audie & the Wolf (2008), the punk rock cult film The Sugar on Top (2006), a series commissioned by the United Nations and the highly acclaimed shorts Oil Change (2009), Dani and Alice (2005) and Personality Crisis (2007) which launched the careers of filmmakers Todd Luoto , Roberta Marie Munroe and Morgan Kellum . They have completed post-production on their new feature The Oregonian (2011) (starring Lindsay Pulsipher of HBO's "True Blood" (2008)) directed by Sundance darling Calvin Reeder . Their current slate includes Jeff Orgill 's fantasy film The Girl with the Wandering Eye and the horror epic Minus Eight (by acclaimed artist Michael Frost ).
