Like many films this year, this movie is dark, sad, serious. But the use of camera, in the beginning especially, is clever and unique. Characters are real and believable. Acting is superb. This is a film to make us think. Not a bad thing at all. It stays with you and may even help one to be grateful for the good things in our lives that we take for granted.

Hard to watch, but excellent. Slow, beautiful, creates a feeling. Brilliant, Julian Schnabel does it again - much better than his paintings!!

Beautifully acted, fabulous photography and direction. Emotional story of paralyzed man and his struggle to communicate. Inspiring, riveting, one of the best movies I have ever seen.
