Are you sure, you want to add Pacific Rim
to your wish list?
Storyline:
When monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end. To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju. On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes - a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse.

With no one naked or cursing every other word. Little sexual overtones between last two jaeger operators, which is reminiscent of old love movies. grandson said it reminded him of Titanic. Wish we had seen 3 d as I bet last rim scenes would have been better , but still all in all, I would highly recommend. Took 10 and 13 year old and it was highly suitable.

The movie was very corny and boring at the beginning I have to admit. Way over acted and too much interaction with the human drivers, rather than the Jaeger and kaeje fighting. But leading into the end of the movie the fighting and effects were so kick *** it made the whole movie! See it if your looking for a action packed finish! As a teenager MUST SEE!

Giant robots vs. alien dinosaurs was enough for me to go, and it was fine as far as that went. Just don't expect anything more than a mediocre film. The dinos all tend to look alike, the robots in Real Steel were more memorable, the acting was OK and the plot line was stupid to the point of being insulting. Let's see, we know where the dinos will emerge and we can even predict when, but we'll hang back so we can fight them in the middle of our largest coastal cities?! Meanwhile, 99% of the world's military seems to be away on an extended holiday. Maybe it was intended as a political statement - see, just building big walls isn't enough to keep out unwanted aliens - get it? Some very cool special effects though.

Wow, what a mega disappointment this one was. It was like the worst imaginable combination of a wanna-be "Transformers" meets a ("Mystery Science Theater 3000"-worthy) "Godzilla" B-movie...... but on steroids. What a total joke this movie was. OMG - and the premise was even more ludicrous than you could ever imagine!
Get this - these Godzilla-like 'creatures' attacking cities in the Pacific Rim were supposed to be 'dormant dinosaurs' who waited for eons until "man had depleted the oxygen level on earth" to where there was enough Co2 for the dinosaurs to return to the earth and survive (insert tree-hugger propaganda theme here) - and the dinosaurs were a 'clone army' with a mission to resume control of Earth, who entered through some 'portal' they refer to as "the breach" (which of course, could only be closed by a nuclear weapon). LOL!
Save your money and your time - pass on this one!

This movie was amazing to watch. The graphics were beautiful and worth the price of admission. The acting on the other hand was just bad. I felt like they must have watched Dead or Alive too many times, but the graphics more than make up for it. I suggest going to see it on the big screen just to be in awe of what they did.
