Philomena was a very well done movie....esepecially loved the Irish countryside. What the Catholic Church did to these young women was a sin. It is a blight on Ireland.

A delightfully well balanced and intriguing review of a real set of events. Balanced performances beautifully directed. At the same time both uplifting and reality-checking. Not one moment of drift and your attention is both warranted and fulfilled

My wife and I are big fans of Dame Judy Dench which is the primary reason we chose this movie. W were not disappointed. She is an extraordinary actress. It is a simple story, but one which tugs at your heart strings! The practice of selling babies in the fashion depicted in this movie was horrific, and the callousness of the Nunneries which practised this behaviour was abominable. The fact that this movie has opened people's eyes to this behaviour is commendable, and hopefully some of the people who have been trying to locate lost children who were sold to rich Americans back in those days will find some of them. This is the ultimate good which comes out of this film.

He produced and acted in the piece as well as having a hand in the screenplay. It's a wonderful story and wonderfully told. Interesting to see Mare Winningham, however briefly. I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

The movie is fantastic. The story line is wonderful, touching, poignant and Judi Dench and Steve Coogan are cast perfectly. A fantastic, wonderful way to spend an afternoon. This move is a must see for everyone
