I found Zodiac to be very entertaining, even with a run time of almost 3 hrs. I've read both of Graysmiths non-fict books (Zodiac and Zodiac Unmasked) and was impressed by how closely the movie was able to follow the books. The movie had just the right mix of the violence, suspense, mystery, and sometimes humor that you'd expect from a serial killer movie with robert downey jr.

Absolutely don't miss it! It's a great view in the theater, but if you unfortunately miss it in the theater, DON'T miss out on the DVD!!!!

The movie started out good... simple humor. Despite the length of the movie with no real climax, it was good. I liked as the facts were revealed little by little, it made me keep guessing WHO the Kodiak could be. The ending was a little predictable though, would have liked another twist on things at the last minute (like they did in the Davinci Code) but since this was based on a true story, guess it had to follow the facts.

The camera work is pure Fincher. Every Fincher film I have ever seen (even Alien 3) has me saying "Wow, that was so cool'" at least 2 or 3 times. In Zodiac, it was the shot of the taxi cab driving through the streets of San Francisco, you watch the cab from above as it drives along, when the cab turns, you turn with it, then when it slows down and stops, the camera floats down on top of the cab and you discover the passenger in the back is Zodiac himself. The acting is also impressive; particularly Robert Downey Jr. Downey plays a drugged out (surprise) reporter for the San Francisco Chronicle. He's funny and tragic at the same time, something he does as well as anyone. I give it a "GO", it runs long and I can't stop thinking that the film could have been 20 minutes shorter and been better, 2 hours and 40 minutes is a long film. I don't have a problem with long films as long as they don?t seem long. I looked at my watch twice, which is not a good thing.

The only reason I took the time to register was to detour people away from this movie. Not to mention the rediculous length of this pile of s@#! you have to read 4 movie screens of paragraphs at the end....WTF. I was really excited about the movie but felt like i just took it in the rear for actually paying for a ticket...STAY AWAY
