When humble rancher Rick Patterson marries movie star Sabrina Eastman, his son Josh (10) finds himself with a new step-sister, Lacey (14). Josh is an introverted boy who doesn't have a lot of confidence and Lacey is a spoiled Hollywood brat who's angry at Sabrina for not letting her have her own reality show. The two kids do not get along and neither do their respective dogs: Josh's dog Meatball is a scruffy, farm mutt who's laid-back and friendly; Cassie is a prim, spoiled, purse city dog who is not into country living. Rick and Sabrina go on their honeymoon for a couple of days, leaving Lacey and Josh in the care of Krystal, a hippie-trippy New Age neighbour. When Lacey sees some people outside the house one night, she starts to think someone is watching the house but Josh dismisses her fears. In the Plum Island, off the coast of Delaware, the long feud between the families of the patriarchs Captain Patrick O'Flynn (Kenneth Welsh) that intends to eliminate the zombies and Seamus Muldoon (Richard Fitzpatrick) that intends to keep his undead relatives waiting for a cure culminates with O'Flynn expelled from Plum. Meanwhile in the continent Sarge "Nicotine" Crocket (Alan Van Sprang), Chuck (Joris Jarsky), Cisco (Stefano DiMatteo) and Tomboy (Athena Karkanis) are plundering and seeking a safe place to stay. When they rescue the young Boy (Devon Bostick) from group of sadistic hunters, Boy decides to join the group and suggests them to head to Plum Island since he had heard a O'Flynn's broadcast inviting people to move to the island. When Sarge and his team arrive in the island, they are attacked by Muldoon's men and they see that the place is crowded of undead. Sarge's friend Chuck is killed and they decide to fight against Muldoon.

Via his now infamous video linked doll, Jigsaw conveys the message that they should ignore there instincts, and ignore his advice at their peril. Meanwhile, agent Strahm wants to prove that Hoffman is an apprentice to Jigsaw, and pursues him as he continues his twisted games. What Strahm does not realize is that Hoffman is testing him all along, and must pass his test in order to stay alive.
